Tim has a wide ranging criminal practice encompassing serious assaults, robbery, immigration offences, sexual offences, public order offences, fraud, false accounting, drugs importation and Proceeds of Crime Act / confiscation proceedings. His criminal practice is split evenly between prosecution and defence work.

Tim has a keen interest in appellate work, having appeared on numerous occasions in the Court of Appeal for both the appellant and respondent on appeals against in relation to immigration offences, robbery, perverting the course of justice, threats to kill, drugs offences and the imposition of IPPs.

Tim has a particular interest in human trafficking and immigration offences. In 2008 he appeared in R v Sandberg, both in the crown court and court of appeal, a high profile child trafficking case. Tim has also written about the Asylum and Immigration (Treatment of Claimants) 2004 Act in Justice of the Peace (Vol 171, number 20).

In addition, Tim has considerable experience in prison law, regularly appearing at Parole Board hearings and disciplinary adjudications.

Tim also practices in education and employment law and licensing matters.

Tim has lectured at the BPP law school and is an advocacy trainer for Middle Temple.
Tim speaks fluent Greek and has a good working knowledge of French.
