
Laura was called to the Bar in 1996.
Laura is a member of the Chambers Management Committee and is Chambers’ Treasurer.
Laura’s Practice is exclusively criminal, but covers an extensive range of cases in the Crown Court and above. She is a member of the CBA and regularly attends conferences on all the new areas of the criminal law, such as the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and the Criminal Justice Act 2003.
Her areas of experience and expertise include rape (both recent and historic), sexual assaults on adults and children, child cruelty and neglect, serious violence and public disorder, kidnap, firearms, drugs supply and importation and fraud (including “million pound” frauds).
Laura has extensive experience in cases involving mental health issues, fitness to plead and restriction orders.
Laura has experience of the Divisional Court and High Court and has conducted full hearings before the Court of Appeal.
Laura has been involved in training Detective Inspectors at the Metropolitan Police Service's Crime Academy.
